Conferences and Information Sessions
Brain Trust
Brain Trust is the annual provincial conference hosted by the ABI Partnership Project. The goal of the conference is to provide affordable, world-class clinical training to the staff of the funded projects, cross-training opportunities to other human service sectors and information and education to survivors and their family members.
Introduction to ABI
The Provincial Education and Prevention Coordinator, in collaboration with various Partnership staff, provides an introductory course on acquired brain injury information. The Introduction to Acquired Brain Injury course provides a basic level of knowledge in the following areas:
The most recent course was held in May 2009. The course is held every eighteen months to two years, and has been videotaped to provide this introductory brain injury information when requested between course offerings.
Injury Prevention
Community Grants
Since 1997, the ABI Partnership Project and Saskatchewan Government Insurance have been involved in a joint program to provide community grants for traffic safety and other injury prevention programs. The goal is to enable community groups to establish, enhance, and deliver programs that address safety issues in their communities. SGI and ABI provide support and guidance in identifying priorities and in the development and implementation of any of these initiatives. Preference is given to projects that have a demonstrated need, strong community involvement or to projects that are funded on a shared basis. These grants are offered twice per year. Deadline for the submission of grant applications is February 28th and October 31st.
For assistance or information, contact the ABI Education & Prevention Coordinator in your area or refer to the SGI Website.
